Cap and trade you

Been reading accounts of the energy bill passed on Friday. seems very much like a tax bill that Republicans won't like and regulation bill that Democrats don't like because it doesn't have the teeth they wanted. See what comes out of the senate at this point but judging by what we have in front of us now this seems like something no one is going to like for a lot of different reasons in the long run. As it stands Obama will get the credit and blame either way. And while I'm trying to be objective about the bill and I realize its not the end of the world if its passed I still things its going to hurt US business in a time where it could prolong the rescission.

Been on my mind that last few days that Limited the number of members of Congress is part of the problem with corruption. The problem has become when congress stopped adding new members and I forget the date off of my head(1911) it was in fear the house would get to big manage. In the modern world I think that fear has gone away. But yet the cap reminds because adding more members would mean people get more representation and the existing member might have to fight for there seats a little more. Say nothing of the fact it would make ever member of House more approachable. Look at the wiki it says each member of the represents 693,000 people I think we can do better than that. at the very least ideas like the Wyoming Rule seem like they would well to make sure everyone has better access to there congressmen

and since we are all getting along so much better...

Been meaning to wright this post for a while just been putting it off, and since I'm in the middle of spring break thought I lay out a few things so I can remember them down the road. This is Largely for my own reference but anyone interested to adding to it can feel free

Wasn't one of the main point of electing Obama to "Restore America Standing in the world." Almost two mouths into office we have manage to offend, look weak, start a trade war, abandon human rights, and stunb the raising powers of the world. While not all of this is Obama Fault it does lays at this feet since these are his people.

Canada:
Lets us not forget the fun of the 2008 Campaign Where Obama said he was against Nafta while at the same time sending people up to Canada to them "This is just Camptain rheteric."

The more fun one is Calling Ottawa Iowa in a press conference. I know not a big deal but it made me smile.

India:
Secartary Clinton Forgot to Stop and say hello to India on her First Trip to SE Asia. A Snub the India's noticed.

Brazil:
They only misspelled his Name and Pushed his meeting around so the White house could have
a St. Patrick's Day party but But HOPE CHANGE...fire the Office of protocol

The Vatican:
The Change in Stem Cells offended the Vatican, not a world power on its own but it is the leaders of the largest single group of Christians on the planet. For what Stems Cell Research Obama rebanned two days later...

Israel:
Coming as no real surprise to anyone but the people that voted for Obama his government is hard at working at stabbing the knife into the back of Israel. There is evidence that the Obama Administration is in talks in Hamas John Kerry just happened to get a letter for Obama from a Member of Hamas that supported him early in the Campaign for president...

Russia:
Well first we offered Russia to take down our Missile shield in eastern Europe which they laughed at us for. While at the Same time making the statement to those countries in Eastern Europe "good luck with that Russian bear I hope he doesn't turn off your gas again." Is that hope and change or a bomber with nukes in our back yard?

United Kingdoms:
Well as nice as 500 dollar in DVD's it might be nice if they played on a region 2 dvd player... But hey he only got you a pen carved from the planks of an anti-slave ship that also happened the be the sister ship of the Presidents Desk. yeah less said about this the better. On the upside if history is a guild Brown won't even keep the DVD because he doesn't want to pay taxes on them.

China:
So Obama has his Gal on this Staff Call Samantha Powers who wrote a book about why its important for American to intervene in place like Rwanda called "A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide" good book. Most people will remember her for getting thrown under the bus by Obama when she made some statement of Iraq and Mrs. Clinton and how she got rehired back work for Mrs. Clinton while I'm sure that is working out great. It make you wonder why the US was will to giving up is Human rights stand with China. Because we are so in need of China buying our Debt that if there should be another revolution is China and there has already been out breaks of Violence the US might have to come in, and support the Commies to keep them buying out debt while at same time repressing there people.

Mexico:
And just tonight we are getting work Obama pissed off Mexico. Getting rid of a Bush program that let Mexican truck drivers operate in the US because unionized truckers on this side of the boarder told him too. Mexico is slapping tariffs on 90 U.S. industrial and agricultural products.


There are a few other minor points about EU and Trade

and two South American Governments throwing out our Ambassadors but I'll save that for part two.
As you can see our US Standing the world had never been better. 4 more year 4 more years...

March..on

Already March of all things. Its funny how time moves, in the fall time seem to move so slowly. Not in a bad way in a very pleasant where I felt I was enjoying the moment. Right now and the last few weeks the time is flying by Leaving me like I can't keep up. Its strange, but seem the way of the world. What has me up tonight is the Death of Paul Harvey. How many times back on the farm did I listen to him looking to THE NEW! or The Rest of the Story. Take my time getting from here or there as to make sure to hear his 15 minute news breaks at noon. Or in the car in the morning when my mother took me to church to serve morning mass. I'm a news nut I read and Listen to more news than I can keep track of, but the format I enjoy getting the news the best in is Radio. ABC radio news was always my favorat. Fox, AP, CNN, NPR can't hold a candle to it and its because of Harvey. When I heard he had lost his voice in 2001 I knew this day was coming. Kinda like we all know that some day we will all put people we care about it the ground. But some hurt a lot more than others and this makes me sad in ways I have only left a few times in my life. Take Care Paul you were one of those Great ones married to the same woman almost 70 years your life was remarkable in ways I'm only beginning to understand.

I hope I have the chance to talk to you someday in whatever goes on after this life beyond the rim

Do you ever look around and wonder

Do you ever look around and wonder what the F is that guy or gal doing. A few weeks back i was taking Kris to work and on my way back I stop by the bank to look into some things as well as stop by the gocery store. I normally park to one side and half way back. even when there are closer spots its just how I roll. Anyways I pull up and park and there is this 70 something women in her car with the sun roof open(its about 5 degrees) and just chain smoking her little heart. Out I don't think much of it. I can think of four or five good reason why she might be doing that. But after i come out 20 minutes latter she is still just sitting three just smoking her heart out. What is up with that still confuses me in the dark hours of the night.

Anyways not much is new around here Bank Fraked up my and kris Debt card and I have been in a battle with them for a sometime to fix it. So if yoru planing ot steal money from me you will have to wait till I make a trip to the bank or take a check. I understand Database crashes happen I just don't like having to take three different trips to straighten out the problems caused by them. In other new Car is fixed Parents are going to bring it back when they visit in two weeks. I think the insurance company missed there estimate by over a factor of 20 which I'm content with.

Other than that life is slow I wish everyone that has a job they keep it and those looking find one. Seems like everyone is having "hard times" at a certain point you wonder if they are just laying off staff they been wanting to get rid of for a while. I have little trust of government and little trust of business I know the limits of both. An neither seem to be doing that great of job.

In the fire and out

For all I might bitch and moan about what Obama and the Democrats do or don't do one thing is very certain in my mind after watching the way the stimulus plan was handled. At least the next two years will be a test of much of what I believe works and doesn't work in government at least in a short term nature. I was listening to Denis Miller with Kris driving home, and made the point, "its both scary and refreshing to have your views put to the test. Its rewording in that you get a better understanding of if what you believe is right or not, but that is also very scary because how often do we have this kind of concentration of power of one party going forward with there ideas."

While I might not have as many problems with Bush as someone from the left does. He was never a good Republican. Kinda Nixon in that many of this Ideas were in fact very liberal and lack of control of spending. John Stolse has made the point, Democrats or Republicans the Government just gets bigger. The only thing that Changes is the speed. And even that under the Bush years was not slow. So, while Republicans had control of both houses of Congress for 5 of Bush 8 years most of the time the Majorities were small and the bills passed very pork heavy.

Compare that with Democrats are about the spend, and lets be honest this is only the first of many Huge budge bills that are done by Democrats for Democrats. As Obama said they won its their right. And While the Republicans don't have to go along to get along. Obama Bush like your with us or your against rhetoric isn't winning him a lot of friends but you don't need friends when you have the votes in your own party. I'm sure the Blue Dog Democrats and people who find them selves in Conservative Areas will "find there voices" by election time in two years but for now this is one horse show. And Like Miller said its good to know if what you believe about government is right. In the back of my mind I worry in 2 or four years rather than saying "when Clinton Lied no one died." We will be say something like "when but spend a trillion dollars at least it freed 30 million people, what did Obama Trillion get us other than debt?" I worry about this with every fiber of my political being and it does scare me. But what I think clearly doesn't matter in Washington right now as seen in the last few days with these closed door Democrat only Stimulus meetings. Very interesting times.

Strength in the face of DOOOOOOOM!

I was just thinking about odd it is that Republicans are against this Stimulus bill. I mean there spending in the last 8 years has been Large and in charge, and while this bill would most likely have gone over better with out the "I won, you didn't" line from Obama or the fact Republicans didn't even to to add there pork to the bill. Its funny thinking back to 2001 and the Patriot act. And how everyone and there dog got a pork in that bill, and how Democrats didn't say a word publicly about it, until after it was passed. Of course there has been more time to go over this bill, and the damage done is no where near as emotional, but the Rhetoric of DOOOOOOM! Coming from Obama and his people is on the same level. "years to recover," "worse than the depression," "500 Million jobs lost a month(honest to god this is real)." Which is fine Fear is a tool of politics, its not overly hopeful but when your hiding with School children become your 70 page venting letter didn't ask did you pay your taxes, its all very understandable.

None the less I'm glad to see that in spite of all of this Republicans are at least going to be able to say what the Democrats could not. We didn't vote for it. Rather than I voted for it before I was against it. Democrats can pass this bill without a single Republican vote the question is do they support enough to do so?
